Some remarks about installing a dual control |
|
It is essential for optimal performance of the dual control unit, to install the unit in the best possible way. To achieve this we have written an extensive general manual to make clear the most important points of departure. Still even important factors are technical skill, good common sense and the right tools. For example: we use a bridge to lift the car up to a comfortable height (sometimes you have to get underneath the car) and we make use of air tools. Sometimes it is necessary to weld in case of modifying a pedal clamp for example.. With each first order of dual controls we supply a General Manual, which explaines the important points of departure. The manual is applicable for both Left Hand Drive- as well as Right Hand Drive cars. In short it comes to the following: Position the pulleys, clamps and base unit in such a way, that the outer cables run with minimal bends, inner cables without touching any metal parts, the original pedals can be handled without noticing anything, and the pedals in the base-unit can be handled with optimal comfort. All these demands must be compared with the various limitations and possibilities all the different car brands and cars themselves have. If the manual is read very carefully this should be perfectly possible. However, the first time one installs a dual control there is still much to be discovered. Best results therefore are realised when some experience is achieved. This won’t happen when somebody does the work only once a month or so. That makes our dual controls a product which needs a reasonable amount of technical support. This should be acknowledged by someone who only plans to sell the product to a third party. At
this moment we can supply car-specific installing manual on the following
